Your rates should function normally, and there should be no appearance of Shopify's backup shipping rate.
We've noticed a problem on stores using the Shopify carrier service API rates mode where the Shopify shipping backup rate is being applied to orders. We're actively looking into the issue and will get back to you with an update soon.
Feel free to contact our team if you'd like to switch to the Functions rates mode, which doesn't rely on the carrier service API. Just keep in mind that you can only make this switch if you're not using subscription apps or Last mile delivery partners. If you're unsure, don't hesitate to reach out, and we'll happily confirm it for you.
